Nia Noir is AI: her dances drew hundreds of millions of views and TikTok removed her account. Who she is, the controversy and how to grow without copying.
Her first TikTok is from December 21, 2025. In just over a month she passed 3 million followers, and a single dance topped 332 million views.
She was accused of copying TikToker @tatianakaer's videos with a swapped face and skin tone, and people called it “digital blackface”. TikTok removed her account in 2026.
An AI influencer lets you grow without showing your face. The key: her face is unique, she carries the AI label and you don't use other people's videos.
Nia Noir is an influencer created with artificial intelligence who went viral on TikTok in late 2025 with dance videos. Her first TikTok is from December 21, 2025; in just over a month she passed 3 million followers and one of her dances topped 332 million views, according to Know Your Meme. She's AI: Nia Noir isn't a real person but a character generated with artificial intelligence. The fact that many people didn't notice is exactly what made her go viral: “is she real?” is the top search about her.
She doesn't have one: she isn't a person. It's also unknown who runs her; no one has come forward as her creator.
Nowhere: she's an AI character with no stated country. Her profile doesn't say who creates her or where from.
TikTok removed it. AfroTech reported on May 27, 2026, citing Glamour UK and the BBC, that the account (@nianoir.xo) was taken down, in a wave of more than 20 accounts featuring AI-generated Black female creators. That account no longer exists.
@niabasic (instagram.com/niabasic), with 725,908 followers as of October 30, 2026. It's the large account she still has active.
On December 30, 2025, a TikToker posted side-by-side comparisons accusing Nia Noir of copying @tatianakaer's videos, her dances and outfits, with a swapped face and skin tone (Know Your Meme). AfroTech also pointed out similarities with videos by another creator, Janice Nichole.
Because she's an AI-generated Black influencer, by an anonymous creator, who was accused of taking other creators' videos and changing the skin tone. The term was used on Reddit in January 2026 and in outlets like AfroTech, which applies it to people who use the image of Black people without being Black.
725,908 on Instagram (@niabasic) as of October 30, 2026. On TikTok she passed 3 million in February 2026, before the account was removed.
There are no published figures. In January 2026, her bio linked to a paid subscription page (Secret Life of Mom).

And that doing it with someone else's content can cost you the account, as happened on TikTok.
